CLASS DESCRIPTIONS


Pre Ballet {Age 2 - 5}
An introduction to ballet and creative movement. Children will learn the basic necessities while enjoying fun music and making new friends. Classes are 30 minutes. Children should wear a body suit (any colour and style), pink or white tights, and pink ballet slippers. Ballet skirts are optional.

Ballet {Age 6+}
Ballet is designed to help the student develop proper alignment of the body and legs, flexibility, posture and rhythm in a graceful manner. This class incorporates Barre work and Centre practice while incorporating traveling steps, jumps and turns. Classes range from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. Cecchetti Method Exam classes are offered as well. Students should wear a bodysuit (any colour and style) pink or white rights and pink ballet slippers. Ballet skirts and shorts are optional. Hair should be worn in a bun.

Jazz {Age 7+}
Jazz is a very fun and upbeat class that develops technique, flexibility, and rhythm using upbeat and popular music. Along with a warm up, there will be across the floor and turning combinations as well as choreography. Classes range from 45 minutes to 90 minutes. Students should wear a bodysuit or fitted shirt and jazz pants, leggings or fitted shorts. Jazz shoes, jazz sneakers and ballet slippers are acceptable.

Modern/Contemporary {Age 7+}
Modern is mix between ballet, jazz and creative movement. A great class for developing strength and technique while also letting you explore your own free movement. Classes range from 45 minutes to 90 minutes. ISTD Modern Exam classes are offered as well. Students should wear a bodysuit or fitted shirt and tights,shorts or jazz pants/leggings. No shoes required as you dance barefoot

Tap {Age 4+}
Tap is a great way to learn coordination and rhythm in a fun and upbeat way. You can learn some intricate footwork while using any variety of music. Classes range from 30 minutes to an hour. ISTD Tap Exam classes are offered as well. Students should wear a bodysuit or fitted shirt and tights, jazz pants or leggings. Tap shoes required.

Hip Hop {Age 7+}
Hip Hop is a popular and fun class that allows you to explore many different styles. From smooth to hard hitting, this style is always keeping up with the latest trends and music. Classes range from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. Students should wear baggy pants or jogging pants and tshirts or fitted shirts are acceptable. Sneakers are required.

Jazz / Hip Hop {Age 5 - 6}
Jazz / Hip Hop is a dance form that will incorporate the jazz basics and technique while including some new hip hop steps. The music is sure to be upbeat and fun. Classes range from 30 minutes to an hour. Students should wear a bodysuit, fitted top or t-shirt and jazz pants, leggings or joggers are acceptable. Jazz shoes or ballet slippers are acceptable.

Pointe {At discretion of teacher}
Pointe work is at the discretion of the teacher - the student must be at a certain level of ballet and they must be strong enough technically. The proper alignment and foot/ankle strength must be achieved before entering Pointe work. Classes range from 30 minutes to 75 minutes. Students should wear a bodysuit and tights. Ballet skirts and shorts will be permitted. Pointe shoes required.

Broadway Jazz {Ages 8+}
Broadway Jazz is a fun, energetic way to develop more performance based choreography. Keeping within basic jazz technique, this style will help boost performance quality while dancing to the best of Broadway.

Jazz Funk {Ages 13+}
Jazz Funk is an upbeat and sometimes sassy style. Keeping with current music, this style mixes jazz and street styles together. This is the perfect style to continue to train your technical side all while being expressive and fierce.

Acro {Ages 8+}
Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context.
